By the way, to me, this is a fallacy. The Top 100 blogs are in the Top 100 because everybody link to them, Z-List and A-List bloggers, so why shouldn't you link to a famous blog if you're famous yourself ? Makes no sense.

Anyway, that's not the point of this post. The point is : this guy says he will offer a total of $10,000 to blogs that are linking to and promoting unknown worthy blogs instead of Top 100 blogs. A grand prize of $3,000 for the winning blog and $100 for 70 runners-up (apparently based on readers' votes).

HA ! This is too silly. Some folks with way too much spare time over at Microsoft are developping a way of managing your email with… a mouse and a keyboard ? Old school ! Too lazy ! With something like a Dance Dance Revolution pad. Yes.

This is called StepMail (video .wmv, 21 mb) and they even have a Step UI research program to create more "Fun physical interfaces for everyday tasks" and take care of more obese people than you can shake a mouse at.

Logahead is a new CMS (blogware, blog script, whatever you call it) that claims to make extensive use of Ajax and every other mandatory things to keep up with the trends (RSS, tags, scriptaculous drap and drop stuff everywhere).

Don't know about the software itself, but the features page has an interesting layout where you drag a screenshot into an "information well" to learn more about it. Cool.

I didn’t know Mininova had a blog, and there I found out about their Torrent Search Cloud. Interesting to see in a glance what people are looking for. (0) «

Click Counter Security Update

I've updated the popular Click Counter Plugin, now available in version 1.02

This is a security upgrade, fixing a potential SQL injection exploit that was discovered by Dougal Campbell (many thanks to him for this notice).

To be honest, I tried for half an hour to break things with various SQL injections and XSS attempts, and I couldn't do anything harmful to my test blog. But, you know, better safe than sorry, so I strongly encourage every user of this plugin to get the latest files. Now.

Update: most probably a false alarm. Oh well, upgrading won't harm anyway :)
