Funny: this post was aiming to be a collection of reasons why WordPress sucks. After a couple of comments pointing out more or less annoying bugs or features, the thread naturally evolved towards a lists of all the reasons why WordPress does not suck, to the consensus that it is the best blogging tool around, certainly not perfect, but still the best. Who needed proofs anyway? :)

You’re more than right, and as a result of this post you’ve given me inspiration for a blog post on my blog as well.

I think Wordpres is a great blogging platform, I use it and so do lots of other people. That persons post was nothing more than a marketing gimmick to gain traffic to his site.

    Thanks :)

Wordpress is a plug and play toy. When you get 400k + visitors to your sites each day a script like Wordress is nothing more than a liability.

To deliver a page full of simple HTML via a zillion php calls is at best dumb. Security and spam is a nightmare with any script that has its holes open for anyone to play with.

Busy blogs should never ever use a script like Wordpress.

I say Wordpress sucks and then some.

My site is proudly powered by staticblog, dishes up to 1 million calls/day with one arm of the processor tied behind its back.
