I have to admit I don’t know exactly what is Ruby. Everybody say it’s damn cool and powerful, I guess I should at least have a look at this one day. Anyway, here is something cool : Try Ruby, an online interactive Ruby shell, introducing Ruby and how it works. (0) «
Using $_SERVER[“REQUEST_URI”] instead of $_SERVER[‘PHP_SELF’] when it’s empty : Mom be proud of me, my suggestion to the developpers is now part of Wordpress code :) Now of course I would have to explain exactly to my Mom the impact of such a subtle tiny change :-Þ (0) «
For a (small and useless) upcoming project I needed a list of all English words. I’ve found a few things (mostly here) and for future reference I’ve compiled a list of 354.000 English words (raw text, one entry per line, 1 MB) (2) «

Robert Scoble (Microsoft's Technical Evangelist) has published the list of blogs he reads (collection of feeds in a zipped OPML file) (via)

Now seriously, who can actually manage a 781 entries blogroll ? If only half of them update daily, and if Scoble spends just 30 seconds on each updated feed, that's more than 3 hours spent daily on reading feeds.

My feed reader tracks about 120 feeds and I sometimes feel it's too much. How many feeds do you check ?

I’m currently testing here Akismet, Matt Mullenweg’s centralized anti spam plugin. Let’s see how things are going. (0) «
Ajax trimed down to the core : AHAH, which stands for Asychronous HTML and HTTP. Despites its uber stupid name (google something with “ahah” ? ahah, gazillions of irrelevant stuff) it’s a neat 2 functions javascript file that is all you need for most of your AJAX needs. (a little example) (0) «
The Hurricane Poster Project: collecting artwork related to Katrina and selling them to benefit the Red Cross. I dislike most of what I’ve seen there, but I really love the website’s interface. (0) «

Feedster Top 500Feedster have recently updated their list of the Top 500 most important and interesting blogs of the galaxy.

Or so they say : I'm ranking #216 there ! And I'm way ahead of much more known and famous blogs from my reading list, such as 456 Berea Street (design blog, ranking 343) or Inside Google (#286). These blogs have thousands of readers when I have about 100 and they rank lower than I do ? I know there is a huge difference between readership and link popularity, but this is getting too weird.

Either Feedster's ranking technology is bullsh*t, or I just don't understand it. For blog popularity checking and ego-surfing I'd rather use Blogpulse or Technorati. But well, I had anyway to put a "Feedster Top 500" sticker somewhere on my blog :-P
