Justin Tadlock just sent out a funny and honorable tweet:
This is honorable because, yes, everybody was a clueless noob at some point and that's something to be remembered when you're asked what looks like stupid questions. Even when it seems like a trivial waste of your time, your answers might help today's noob become tomorrow's leet.
And this is funny because, well, it's just too funny to read something like "I'm not particularly skilled at php" from someone who is now one of the most knowledgeable people around and who blogs high class stuff about WordPress (heh, obviously)
So I went for some hunting and found what seems to be my first post on the WordPress forums. Heh :)
What was your first forum post about? Go and find some embarrassing questions you once asked!

Hmmm, it seems like I replied to a lot of threads before I got the nerve to actually post a new thread. :D

Oh wow, that is *hysterical*.
Even very intelligent people are noobs at first… I'm experiencing a lot of frustration right now trying to figure out some stuff with Apache. I've been getting very very cold reception from them even though I've been doing programming and coding for over a decade. It's giving me a really bad taste in my mouth about open source in general. That's one of the reasons I appreciate WordPress, you joke a little about treating WP noobs as WP noobs but WordPress has very good support compared to other projects out there!
Unfortunately, Ozh, I *do* remember what tremendous, monstrous, utter NOOB I was, back in the day when I started lurking around AD&D mailing lists (must be 1993). Damn my good memory! :(
This is the first thread I started! http://wordpress.org/support/topic/620?replies=6
can u tel me how u create this go.php in root to redirect to outward links. i have seen a lot of experts using this file.
thanks in advance.
As a newbie I made great experiences in some well-known forums, people who are really of help with their comments.
On the other hand: you're absolutely wright, there are no 'stupid' questions only 'stupid' answers because the recipient didn't listen to you/to your question.
(May be they are afraid this 'noob' of today could become more successful as them tomorrow???)
Lol, that thread of Justin's is pretty funny!
I think the dumbest questions I've asked are the most recent ones though! The more confident I get, the more ballsy I am at asking totally retarded questions I've always wanted to ask.
