Hofstadter's Law: "It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take Hofstadter's Law into account.". Seems to apply to just anything:)

Gotta love Hofstadter. Have you checked Hofstadter's Gödel, Escher, Bach?
It won the 1980 Pulitzer, and it's every übergeek's favorite book (me included :). Really fun book, full of stuff on recursivity, the mind, software, and much more. Couldn't recommend it more.
