{"id":670,"date":"2007-08-26T21:39:36","date_gmt":"2007-08-26T19:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planetozh.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/wordpress-plugin-competition-woohoo-i-won-o\/"},"modified":"2007-08-26T21:39:36","modified_gmt":"2007-08-26T19:39:36","slug":"wordpress-plugin-competition-woohoo-i-won-o","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planetozh.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/wordpress-plugin-competition-woohoo-i-won-o\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress Plugin Competition: Woohoo, I Won \\o\/"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hot from the press: I got 4th spot (also known as &quot;Consolation Prize&quot;:) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogtoolscollection.com\/pluginblog\/\">WordPress Plugin Competition<\/a>, with my (uberleet) plugin <a href=\"http:\/\/planetozh.com\/blog\/my-projects\/wordpress-plugin-who-sees-ads-control-adsense-display\/\">Who Sees Ads<\/a> (also known as &quot;The Ultimate Ad Management Plugin&quot;).<\/p>\n<p>I&#39;m pretty happy about it, especially given how my plugin is not geared toward the majority of WP users: most are not running ads, or are not interested enough in online advertising to grasp the benefit of not <em>always<\/em> displaying ads.<\/p>\n<p>I&#39;m pretty happy about it because winning something is <em>very<\/em> rewarding. Writing plugins is a hobby, I do it for the fun and as a way to share something I like doing (coding). Whenever someone rewards me, be it with a small donation or with a nice competition prize, it feels extremely pleasant and warm in the inside.<\/p>\n<p>And I&#39;m very happy about this prize because it might bring home something I completely dig: a poster from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallhogs.com\/\">Wallhogs<\/a>. I say <em>might<\/em> because Wallhog is a website &#038; company I&#39;ve been watching since they launched, desperately waiting for their&#8230; shipping to Europe damnit!! Let&#39;s hope for this very special occasion an overseas deal will be possible :)<\/p>\n<p>As for my plugin <a href=\"http:\/\/planetozh.com\/blog\/my-projects\/wordpress-plugin-who-sees-ads-control-adsense-display\/\">Who Sees Ads<\/a>, it&#39;s been updated to 1.01: a minor yet annoying bug would prevent cookies from being properly written under PHP 4.x, so get the new version if that&#39;s your case.
