A bit of my personal life, mainly focused on my kids. A bit of code, mainly focused on Wordpress and PHP. Overall, bits of nothing in particular.

I clicked on your shorties tag and stumbled on this blog entry. I was coming here to comment on the great work on your admin bar and your better plugin page plugins. Great work.

Of the many lessons I learned in science class, the one that sticks out the most is that no one can prove a universal negative. By this I mean you can't really prove God doesn't exist. Now Ozh I'm not going to insult you, I'm a believer, so the following is probably going to shock the heck out of you. On the flip side of that very same coin, I don't think scientifically, you can prove God's existence either w/o using faith-based or faith biased resources. That's why it is a matter of faith.

Most kids these days don't really believe Santa Claus exist, even before their parents tell them "the truth". But what they do believe in is what Santa Claus represents. And there is historical evidence of Saint Nicholas and what he did for children and his goodness.

What I might suggest is let your kid have his leeway. Let him explore his spiritual path. Faith is something we all need even as adults. No reason to destroy the concept in a mind so young. Just my opinion.

Sad :(
When my daughter asked me if Santa existed I was honest - I told her that I couldn't say for certain but that I knew for sure that Santa stopped coming and left it to parents to get gifts when children stopped believing.
As a result, she kept believing in Santa until she was 16. Well, at least she said she did! LOL

OTOH, the tooth fairy stopped coming the moment she pulled out a tooth and expected money for it.

Not to mention all the other religious leaders. I remember when I found out the Dalai Lama wasn't <strong>actually</strong> a llama.
