The way that this is measured is by inbound links with recent links weighted fairly significantly. Perhaps you had a lot of inbound links recently where they didn't. Lots of sites have many readers but, for example, if they don't publish full content feeds, they tend to have less inbound links. That's a possibility too. But you do make a good blog.
